Friday morning, in the pre-dawn hours (both a bit slap-happy from lack of sleep) we shut the door, for the last time, on our Reno apartment and hit the road to La Paz. . .Mexico, that is. On the Baja peninsula. To join our new boat, Rumiko, and our friends, Burke, Kacey and Quinn. We're writing this from Costa Mesa, CA, where we had to pick up boat engine parts. By tomorrow morning, we will have put close to 1,000 miles under our wheels, and will end up in Ocotillo, CA, where our good friend and Edie Harmon has an oasis in the desert. We'll relax there for a day before crossing the border that stands between us and our new lives!
Whenever we talk with Edie she entreats us to come and visit her in Ocotillo, because "it's on the way to everywhere." Well, this time we can't argue with her logic. It's certainly on the way to where we're headed. And we're happy to go eat oranges and pomegranates in her cabana.
